Midget Females Win Bronze at Provincials!

Congratulations to the Acadia Midget Female AA team for winning Bronze at this weekend's provincial tournament held in Middleton! Acadia lost the first game to Western Valley with a 6 - 5 score, and the second game of the evening they lost to Antigonish 4 -1. On Saturday the team rallied back and defeated Halifax 2 - 1 and the thriller of the tournament was the overtime win, with a goal by team captain Cailyn Byers, with a 3 - 2 score against Cole Harbour. This win captured Acadia the Bronze Medal and eliminating Cole Harbour, a team that Acadia had not beaten all year. Game MVP's are Cailyn Byers, Brianna Graham, Olivia Nelson and Trissa Dunham. In the skills competition Michelle Trenholm won in the fastest forward skater category and Cailyn Byers came 2nd in the shoot out. Selections from Acadia to the All Star Team are Cailyn Byers for Forward and Brianna Graham for Defence. The team also won the honor and banner for Fair Play Award going to the least penalized team in the tournament.
